The small Ventasso Laghi ski resort (1,350 - 1,553 m) is located in the picturesque setting formed by Mount Ventasso and Lake Calamone, one of the most beautiful lakes in the entire Tuscan-Emilian Apennine area.
Located in the heart of a beech forest of significant natural interest, it is a popular tourist destination throughout the year because of the beautiful hiking trails in the area, that allow visitors to explore this stunning natural environment first-hand.
During the winter season, it has a small but well-equipped ski resort, with two lift systems, four pistes of varying difficulties, a terrain park, a track for bobsleighs and sledges that is also used for snow tubing and an artificial snowmaking system that guarantees the slopes can be used even when there is a lack of natural snowfall.
The slopes, which are wide and not very demanding, make this ski resort the ideal destination for beginners or anyone who just wants to have fun. Plus, there are Alpine skiing competitions, the possibility of opting for beautiful off-piste trails, night-time snowshoe walks and several trails marked for snowshoe hikes and dog sledging.
Local accommodation options include small and medium-sized hotels and there are a number of fantastic restaurants that offer tasty cuisine based on local products and recipes.
