SANTA MARIA all'Immacolata – Tasting of ancient grape varieties from Vigoleno
Join us for a tasting that takes you back through the ancient flavours of Vigoleno – its marl-rich soils, once the seabed of a prehistoric sea, and later the lands of the medieval Castle. We'll explore several expressions of Santa Maria, the village's signature grape and the heart and soul of its celebrated Vin Santo. To go with them, rich, bold flavours to warm the days before winter: almond shortbread, mature cheeses and dark chocolate. So this Immaculate Conception weekend, let's raise a glass of Santa Maria – ancestral, skin-macerated and, finally, passito. A deep experience for courious winelovers.
Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 and Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 December
Vin Santo di Vigoleno – Tastings
What better time than Christmas? Vin Santo di Vigoleno is a journey through the long history of this land – a wine for slow sipping and quiet reflection, taking us back to the roots of the medieval village. Grown on the Castle's estate and left to dry in its attics, the village's ancient grapes, Santa Maria and Melara, remain at the heart of its story, yielding wines of seductive, timeless character. This is a noble-rot wine, dried in the Castle's cellars and aged for at least seven years, during which the noble mould works its quiet magic and brings out the very best in the wine. Join us for two weekends devoted to Vigoleno's Vin Santo, with intense, absorbing tastings to savour yourself or give as a gift – a perfect way to count down to Christmas.
From Monday, December 28 to Wednesday, January 6
