Group trek through glacial lakes, watermills and community cooperatives in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park
Dates: 30 MAY – 2 JUNE 2026
ITINERARY
Day 1 (arrival)
Meet the guide and the rest of the group: 1.15 pm at Parma railway station.
We will travel by coach to the historic village of Corniglio, which we will visit together after settling in at its castle, now used as a hostel. We will cook together and/or share dishes for our dinner, whilst we wait to set off on our journey together.
Day 2
A picturesque ridge walk will captivate us from the very first step. Here, the special ingredients are geology, wild panoramas and authentic traces that tell a story of coexistence. On our arrival, we will be welcomed by a wonderful community cooperative, which safeguards an important crossroads of cultures, trade routes and lands off the beaten track, away from the bustling centre.
► Please bring your own packed lunch (you can buy or prepare it on Saturday in Corniglio)
Day 3
It is on this stage that the Alta Via dei Parchi meets the Sentiero dei Ducati.
On tiptoe, we will cross beech woods and breathtaking passages that tell the story of the resilient Valle dei Cavalieri, until we find ourselves immersed in a timelessly charming amphitheatre where the crystal-clear waters of the Secchia springs flow. We will spend the night as guests at a delightful mill, in the authentic and magical atmosphere of the Brigands’ lands.
Day 4
Surrounded by the scent of ancient chestnut groves and the sound of streams cutting through the characteristic sandstone rock, we’ll take a step back in time to retrace the footsteps of the transhumance.
At the end of the walk, we’ll take a regular bus to the charming village of Cervarezza. From here, there are two options:
