La Tavola del Contado is located at the foot of the Torrechiara Castle, in the first hills of Parma which are part of the Mab Unesco Reserve of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
The passion for local products led the owners - who also speak English - to gather many producers of Emilia in a shop that is a window to get in touch with culture, history and tradition, trough the food and wine experience at craftsmanship level.
In order to better accommodate travellers, it also offers: Bar - Restaurant and many Tourist Services, such as medieval guided tours in the Castle and visits and tastings in the ham factories and dairies in the surroundings, but also tours in Parma and Emilia as well.
The restaurant has seats inside a comfortable veranda where you can taste excellences such as Parmigiano Reggiano di Montagna DOP, Prosciutto di Parma DOP and other local cured meats and cheeses. Pickled hand made with herbs, flowers and wild fruits are served together with baked goods and other Apennine Specialties: Tortelli with herbs, but also with pumpkin and potatoes, Soups, salted or sweet Crepes, all healthy and good dishes . Among other things, are ever available of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes.
Maximum attention is paid to environment and sustainability in a broad sense. All spaces are accessible, with spacious and comfortable restrooms for everyone.
