100 Laghi Bike

Logo CC

The Cento Laghi Bike is a cycle-hiking Trail immersed in the Parco Nazionale dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano, the Parco Regionale dei Cento Laghi and Area MAB Unesco. It was conceived by the Municipality of Monchio delle Corti in synergy with the Province of Parma and with the participation of the Parchi del Ducato, the Parco Nazionale dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano and the Municipality of Corniglio, which aims to enhance the naturalistic heritage, beauty and goodness of the Parma Apennines.

The trail is mostly on forest roads and paths immersed in high altitude forests and only for a few kilometres on asphalt, with stretches premiscuous with ordinary roads. These features together with the elevation gain of about 800 meters, make the Cento Laghi Bike a route suitable for MTBs, pedal-assisted MTBs (e-Bikes) and even gravel but with experienced people. Preferable for the less experienced and "fit" to use e-Bikes.

The track of about 25 km, as the appropriate APP, are downloadable on appropriate site.

Departure and arrival are set in Prato Spilla locality in the municipality of Monchio delle Corti and Lagdei locality in the municipality of Corniglio, with the possibility to ride in both directions. Along the route it will be possible to carry out tastings of typical products of the valley, just inside the refuges and in the restaurants of the crossed localities.

In the same places it will be possible to stay overnight in order to organize the return trip also the following day with the possibility of alternatively walking the ridge trail called "100 Laghi Trail", with views of the main lakes of glacial origin, exclusive to this area of the Parma Apennines.

The lakes crossed directly or otherwise visible by taking the 2 trails are n.14, some of them located immediately behind the ridge within the ancient glacial cirques that morpholocially represent the entire territory.
