Walking and tasting among chestnut trees, chestnut groves and drying rooms
Date: 2 November 2025, 10:00 a.m.
Location: Bosco di Corniglio, Pr

A journey through the history of these mountains, immersing yourself in the woods and the culture of the chestnut tree, which for centuries has been the backbone of mountain life. This year, we are offering this experience again with a trek that will take us to discover autumn views and landscapes of meadows and woods between the village and the Cirone Pass. We will eat a packed lunch along the way. After lunch, we will visit the chestnut grove with Susanna, who will explain everything about the care and cultivation of chestnut trees and the processing of chestnuts. Afterwards, we will head to the farmhouse for a tasting of traditional chestnut specialities, which will be our dessert: roasted chestnuts, chestnut fritters, pattona, castagnaccio, mesciadela (ancient chestnut flour bread), chestnut flour biscuits, accompanied by a small tasting of beer made with the farm's dried chestnuts.
In 2023, Antica Dogana chestnut flour was ranked among the four best chestnut flours in Italy!
