From 16 May to 14 November 2026, the Lugagnano Val d'Arda area will host “Lunaria dei Calanchi”, a wide-ranging cultural festival combining entertainment, music, nature and the promotion of the local area between Veleia Romana and Chiavenna Rocchetta.
The programme features cultural events, concerts, theatre performances, guided walks and tastings, with events set against the landscapes of the Stirone and Piacenziano Regional Park and the historic backdrop of the archaeological excavations at Veleia.
The event kicks off with a walk dedicated to wild orchids and continues throughout the summer with free evening events (booking required): conferences on women in the arts, concerts inspired by film soundtracks, theatre performances featuring nationally renowned authors and performers, jazz evenings, literary gatherings and musical events dedicated to folk traditions. Among the most evocative events are the performances at the archaeological excavations of Veleia Romana and the evenings in Torricella di Chiavenna Rocchetta, where culture and landscape come together at sunset.
The programme concludes with an excursion dedicated to the world of truffles, featuring demonstrations of truffle hunting with dogs and tastings of typical local products, confirming Lunaria dei Calanchi as an experience that successfully combines culture, nature and food and wine in the heart of the Val d’Arda.
