"I Love Rez. Gente e Cibo dell'Emilia" (Food and People of Emilia) is a large-scale food and wine festival held in the historic center of Reggio Emilia.
The event is entirely dedicated to promoting Reggio Emilia’s culinary culture, its traditions, and local producers.
On the program:
- Local Delicacies: The stars of the show are the culinary gems of Reggio Emilia, including cappelletti, tortelli verdi, the ever-present erbazzone, local cured meats, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Traditional Balsamic Vinegar.
- Cooking demonstrations and workshops: Michelin-starred chefs, pasta makers, and expert culinary artisans demonstrate live how to knead and roll out traditional specialties.
- Traditional Flavors: There’s also a spotlight on “forgotten” dishes or those from rural heritage, such as soft polenta and Reggio-style chizza.
- Shows and entertainment: The atmosphere in the squares is enlivened by live music, comedy, farmers’ markets, and culinary challenges (such as the legendary “gnocco fritto challenge” between provinces).
There will also be exhibits of native animals and breeds, as well as talks.
