From May to December 2023 the Teatro Regio and Teatro Due in Parma, the Teatro Municipale Valli, the Teatro Ariosto and the Teatro Cavallerizza in Reggio Emilia will host the Reggio Parma Festival with the project Maguy Marin - La Passione dei Possibili, dedicated to Maguy Marin.
Maguy Marin, the French choreographer who won a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Biennale, is one of the most important artists of contemporary dance, whose creation of May B in 1981 upset and innovated every perspective.
To her and her work the Reggio Parma Festival therefore dedicates an important trajectory of appointments (performances, workshops, meetings, screenings) that will unite again in a long calendar, where the co-production of one of her new choreographic works stands out. In order to acquaint the general public with the works of one of the most eclectic and courageous choreographers and artists on the international scene, capable of interpreting, through dance, the body and space, the complexity of contemporary man and his contradictions.
If the project Maguy Marin - The Passion of the Possible is a hymn to the world of dance, the appointments dedicated to music and theatre promise to be equally stimulating.
The project A Journey Between Music and Theatre - From Peer Gynt to Verdi's Gala, up to the 50th anniversary of Musica Realtà constitutes a high-level cultural offer capable of promoting the production capacities of the Reggio Emilia and Parma territory in a national and international perspective.
