Every year on the last weekend of April Castell'Arquato hosts The Monterosso Val d’Arda Festival.
It was conceived by the volunteers of Castell’Arquato in 2011 to promote the typical wine of the area. Over the years, the event has also become an opportunity to promote tourism in the Val d’Arda and give impetus to all the best that the Piacenza area has to offer.
During two days the local wineries will present their white wines along the "barricaia" street, which will also be enlivened by art exhibitions, musical performances and succulent gastronomic expressions.
Castell'arquato is a beautiful medieval village easy to reach: 15 kilometers from the A1 highway exit "Fiorenzuola d'Arda". Its hills have a peculiar red colour due to the iron present in the earth that gives the name to the wine produced in the area.
