Reaching it on foot is quite easy: starting from the Varano de’ Melegari cemetery, continue to the right towards the hamlet of Castagnola. Once past the village, keep right and climb along a dirt road that leads straight to the bench.

With this Big Bench, we approach the border with Tuscany, high up in the mountains of the Parma Apennines. In fact, it has been installed at a panoramic viewpoint on the road leading to the Passo della Colla, at the foot of Monte Navert (1,654 meters above sea level), about 3 kilometers from the hamlet of Valditacca. The view opens onto the wonderful valley of the Cedra stream, shaped by glaciations during the distant Pleistocene epoch. The Val Cedra is part of the Parco dei 100 Laghi (Park of the 100 Lakes).

The bench can be reached via several marked trails of varying lengths and elevation gains, suitable for everyone. Leaving the car in Collagna, the bench is reachable after about 3 km and a 300-meter elevation gain by taking the CAI 679 trail and continuing toward Monte Guardia through the chestnut grove, or by walking along the paved road to Valbona and then continuing on a cart track.
