11:00 a.m. Self-arrival in Scandiano (RE) for a winery tour with final tasting – duration: approx. 1 hour 30 minutes.
The visit starts in the upper area of the winery, where the production facilities are located, and then continues to the barrel cellar, which houses the ageing area. This first part lasts about 45/50 minutes. The tour then moves on to the tasting, which takes place in the room adjacent to the barrel cellar, during which the wines produced by the estate will be presented, followed by the tasting session.
Top Tasting: includes 3 types of wines + 1 of your choice between their classic-method sparkling wines or the Riserva, accompanied by light snacks (this is not a full meal).
Lunch and free afternoon. Opportunity to discover the beauty of the area with a walk through the town of Scandiano or Albinea, or by heading to Reggio Emilia, or to Viano Castle (external visit). A beautiful panoramic viewpoint is Monte delle Tre Croci, in the Ventoso area.
Lunch recommendations: “Osteria del Castello” at Viano Castle, Pianderna Agriwellness (Scandiano area), or Azienda Agricola Valtresinaro (Viano area).
In the late afternoon, check-in at a local farmhouse (Albinea, RE) and room accommodation.

Spacious and welcoming, the Cavazzone suites consist of an entrance hall, living area, and bedroom with a double bed. The private bathroom is equipped with a shower, hairdryer, and courtesy toiletries.

After dinner, we recommend an evening stroll in Albinea, wandering through its small streets and cozy bars.
PLEASE NOTE: It is possible to book a visit to the Agriturismo’s Acetaia (traditional vinegar cellar), lasting about 30 minutes and including a small spoon tasting, at a cost of €25 per person, subject to availability and advance booking. The day and time must be arranged directly with the property.
Day 2
Breakfast at the agriturismo and check-out.
A full day immersed in two of the seven castles that are part of the “Castles of Women”, an itinerary that since 2018 has linked, into a single route, castles connected to female figures who left a strong mark on myth, popular legends, and the life of these fortresses—symbolically representing all the women of the lands of Emilia.
The protagonists of the day are the history and beauty of the lands shaped by Matilda of Canossa and her undisputed prestige. An unforgettable journey through traces of the medieval past and the authentic flavors of the Emilian tradition.
The tour begins with a visit to the majestic Canossa Castle, famous as the site of the humiliation of Henry IV, who obtained papal forgiveness after three days of penance before the Countess.
The afternoon continues with the contemplation of the nearby Rossena Castle, offering one of the most evocative panoramic views of the entire Matildic area.
Guided tours: Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., duration approx. 1 hour.
At the end of the castle visit, our services conclude. Upon request and as a supplement, it is possible to add an extra night at the agriturismo with dinner and breakfast included.
