An exhibition dedicated to the tomato, which found fertile ground in the province of Parma at Corte Giarola (Collecchio) as early as the second half of the 19th century.
The exhibition is organised in seven thematic sections that include a part dedicated to the arrival of the product in Europe in the 16th century, the development of the industry in the economic reality of Parma, the industrial processing of tomatoes through the display of fourteen vintage machines with a link to the development of the mechanical industry, the experimentation of the canning industry starting in 1922 and other curiosities.
The exhibition concludes with advertising, historical and cultural references to the tomato, not forgetting its leading role in the world of gastronomy.
