The history of this farm, in the heart of the Riserva geologica del Piacenziano, a natural and geological area full of fossils and shells of 3,5 milion years ago, comes from 105 years ago.
Since 1905 Marchetti’s family works this land in Diolo, a small village in Chiavenna valley, near Lugagnano Val d’Arda (Piacenza), in the north of Italy, one hour far from Milan.
The farm, developped in rio Cogni that gives the name to the area, was born with Ludovico, the grandfather, who in 1905 worked his vineyards producing table grapes of high quality, such as “Diolo’s Bianchetta”, “Delizia”, “Regina” and “Italia”, sending in market too.
The tradition goes on with the son Luigi and the grandchildren Adriano and Arturo, arriving to Mirella, the daughter of the last one.
From 1950’s the farm is following a wining address with new vineyards and the building of a wineshop with a tasting room.
In the kitchen, traditional country dishes are prepared with fresh pasta made at the moment, typical cured meats of own production and with the meat of animals raised on the farm.
