This itinerary is one of the possible routes to get to know a peculiarity of the Parma area: the Food Museums, along low-traffic roads: a ring about 50 km long for everybody.
The museums are places dedicated to typical products: Langhirano ham, Salame of Felino, Sparkling wine (Lambrusco and Malvasia), Pasta and tomato, Parmigiano Reggiano, Culatello and Porcino mushroom.
Our itineray starts in Fidenza, where you cannot miss the visit of the Cathedral of San Donnino, a stop on the ancient Via Francigena still today a destination for pilgrims.
The pretty center will welcome you with a beautiful square and the Magnani Theater.
From here we go to Soragna where we can get to know the first museum of our itinerary: the Parmigiano Reggiano Museum, set up in an eighteenth-century complex.
Near the museum you can visit the Castle (Rocca), home of the Meli Lupi family.
From Soragna to Polesine Zibello there are about 16 km and here, in the heart of the Lower Parma area, where in winter the fog reigns and not far away from the great river Po, we find the Culatello Museum inside the Antica Corte Pallavicina - The Palazzo delle due torri.
After the visit to the musesum, for the return to Fidenza we can pass through Busseto the pretty village known for the museums dedicated to Maestro Giuseppe Verdi, including Casa Barezzi and the Verdi Theatre, but where you they can also visit the Renata Tebaldi Museum and the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli.
