Contignaco Castle is once again offering special wine-tasting sessions featuring wines from its cellars.
Contignaco wines can be savoured on the castle’s panoramic terrace, with a stunning view of the foothills of the Parma Apennines, whilst enjoying the poetic beauty of the sunset. Guests can also enjoy a pleasant picnic on the lawn, again whilst watching the sunset.
In the event of rain, guests can move indoors to the castle’s spacious halls, surrounded by the charm of its ancient stonework.
Guests will be able to sample a wide selection of wines produced by the Contignaco cellars: Bianco Ignatius, Bianco Contignaci Turris, Bianco Zelinda, Rosso del Sasso, Rosso del Rio dei Predoni and Rosso Rubeum Durantis.
All the castle’s wines, the result of a long and careful maceration of the skins in the must and left unfiltered, are produced using traditional winemaking methods that bring out the flavour of local tradition.
Furthermore, since June 2021, the wines of Castello di Contignaco have been accepted into the F.I.V.I. (Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers), a large family of winegrowers that promotes the quality and authenticity of Italian wines.
Before and after the goblets
For those who will be having aperitifs and tastings aroud lunchtime: 11.15 a.m., 3.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. guided tour of the Castle.
For families with children: 10.45 a.m. and 3 p.m., "Treasure Hunt in the Castle: Ancient Faity Tales and Dante's Monsters".
You can take part in an Escape Castle experience, either during the day or in the evening by candlelight: 11.15 am, 3.30 pm, 5.30 pm, 9.30 pm, ‘The Magic and Mysteries of the Castle’, a special guided tour of the castle by candlelight featuring a mysterious puzzle game.
