Eagles and Owls in Flight at the Castello di Tabiano – spectacular falconry displays in the ancient manor.

On Monday, April 6, at Castello di Tabiano, visitors will be guided in discovering the secrets of falconry, an ancient and noble art once practiced by kings and emperors and still carried on today in some parts of the world.

Falconry shows will take place at 11:00 am and 5:00 pm, and before and after the performances it will be possible to join guided tours of the castle.

“We decided to organise this event to revive an important tradition of the castle,” explains Giacomo Corazza Martini, owner of the castle and author of several books on the history of Tabiano. “Falcon hunting was in fact the favourite activity of Emperor Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor, ally of Marquis Uberto Pallavicino, lord of Tabiano in the 13th century.”

Guided tours will start at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm and last about one hour. The itinerary takes visitors through rooms decorated with frescoes, mirrors and coats of arms, the large vaulted cellars, the park with centuries-old trees, panoramic terraces, the grand staircase and the ancient library.
