Discovering the art, history and tradition of Christmas among the monuments and streets of Piacenza. From the Cathedral with its frescoes and bas-reliefs, to San Savino with the scenes of its ancient mosaics, we will discover customs such as those of the pipers or legends such as those of the talking animals. We will tell of the festivities and customs of the townspeople in the month of December, with a look also at the festivities in January, for an end and beginning of the year marked by conviviality and hope.
A journey through the history and memories of the city to relive the traditional spirit of Christmas in the Piacenza style.
GOLDEN THREAD - participatory installation in the dome
Starting from Sunday, 7 December
Each visitor writes a wish, a prayer or a thank you on a golden ribbon. The ribbons are then woven into a single installation (Golden Thread - “Filo d'Oro”) along the entire length of the drum of Guercino's dome in the Cathedral of Piacenza.
