The charm of Christmas lights up once again within the historic walls of San Pietro in Cerro Castle, which will open its doors on the weekend of November 28–29, 2026, for a new edition of The Magic of Christmas – Creative Ideas.
An ever-anticipated, unmissable event blending festive atmosphere, local food and wine excellence, and unique artistic showcases—transforming the castle into a magical setting to enjoy the holiday season countdown with family and friends.
A Fairytale Welcome
Welcoming visitors along the lime tree avenue, the aromas of mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, and crackling wood braziers set the tone as the November mist wraps everything in a veil of magic. At 10:00 AM, the castle’s main gate opens onto the Cortile dei Cavalieri (Courtyard of the Knights), where a glowing Christmas tree installation and live music by Golden DinDin create a festive, memorable ambiance for all.
The Market of Delights (Il Mercato delle Cose Buone)
Under the arches of the portico, the Market of Delights showcases local excellence: mushrooms, truffles, cured meats, cheeses, honey, giardiniera (pickled vegetables), preserves, seasonal fruit and vegetables, artisanal wines, and spirits. You will also find breakfast pastries, tea-time treats, hot street food, and gourmet sandwiches perfect for lunch or a quick bite. Throughout the day, the historic kitchens and dining halls on the ground floor will host aperitifs, wine, champagne, and cocktail tastings—a magical opportunity to toast by the fireplace.
Creative Idea
On the noble floor (piano nobile), among festively decorated rooms with roaring fireplaces, local artists and artisans present their creations: home décor, tailored clothing, contemporary artworks, fine handcrafted items, jewelry, and fashion accessories. It is a treasure trove of refined, original Christmas gift ideas that highlight authentic creativity and craftsmanship.

Four magical days filled with art, history, music, and dance set against the backdrop of Vigoleno Castle and its legendary past.
The village decks its halls in anticipation of Christmas: trunks filled with family heirlooms and lights are opened, homes welcome artisans and artists sharing handcrafted creations and interactive workshops, and the scent of the Alpini’s mulled wine fills the cobblestone streets. Ancient walls echo with stories from the past to listen to or simply feel while enjoying a glass of wine and a warm bowl of anolini pasta. Meanwhile, on the main floor, Princess Ruspoli is busy preparing the grand halls to welcome her guests.
Guided Costumed Tours & Activities
Animated tours will feature performances by Noblesse Oblige, the Angolo di Danza dance school of Alseno, and Cinzia Longhi’s dance school of Fidenza, with a special appearance by actor Simone Santi as an impeccable Gabriele D’Annunzio.
Visitors can enjoy costumed guided tours and workshops on embroidery, custom Christmas perfume crafting, or soy candle making, as well as guided Vin Santo wine tastings (upon reservation).
Christmas Concert
Don't miss the Christmas Concert performed by the Coro ANA Valnure degli Alpini at the Oratory of the B.V. delle Grazie on November 29 at 5:30 PM. The event is dedicated to Armonia, an association raising awareness about breast cancer.
