A journey that is an emotional crescendo at the heart of Italian singer-songwriting, designed for those who love slow tourism and authentic flavours. From the ‘outskirts of the soul’ sung about by Guccini in "Samantha", to the artistic universe of Augusto Daolio of I Nomadi, through music and paintings. A day suspended in time between the Bassa Reggiana and Reggio Emilia, where songs become the landscape.

Morning: a trip to the Bassa Reggiana

  • Guided tour of the exhibition dedicated to Augusto Daolio, Gonzaga Museum, Novellara Housed within the Gonzaga Museum, the permanent collection dedicated to Augusto Daolio, the late leader of the band ‘I Nomadi’, pays tribute to his art (he was a painter and poet as well as a musician) and to the deep bond between him and Guccini (think of songs such as ‘Dio è morto’ or ‘Noi non ci saremo’). The guided tour of the entire museum lasts approximately one hour and a quarter. The exhibition room can be visited as part of the Gonzaga Museum’s exhibition route in the 1900s section, which is included in the admission ticket.
  • Guided tour and tasting at a local farm producing Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia PDO This is the product that best represents the passing of time, a ‘praise of waiting’, transforming matter into essence over the decades, echoing Guccini’s lucid nostalgia.
  • Followed by a light lunch featuring local specialities, water and local wine.

Afternoon: the historic centre of Reggio Emilia
Transfer to Reggio Emilia (approx. 30 mins) and a self-guided tour of the exhibition:

  • Exhibition: ‘Francesco Guccini – Canterò soltanto il tempo’ – Spazio Gerra The 60-minute audio guide will take you on a journey through the Maestro’s memories in an intimate atmosphere.

The project aims to convey the complexity of Guccini as a figure and of his creative universe, going beyond the musical dimension to explore the cultural and intellectual richness of his work. The materials provided by the author, many of which have never been exhibited before, help to create a narrative structured like a concept album centred on remembrance, memory and time, exploring nine thematic groups through nine songs. The exhibition draws on Guccini’s main sources of inspiration: illustration, popular culture, literature, history and his roots.

Following this, there is the option to visit the exhibition: ‘Luig Ghirri. A series of dreams’ – Palazzo dei Musei: an exhibition exploring the ‘mysterious connection’ between image and music in Luigi Ghirri’s work, spanning visual landscapes and soundscapes.

The following can be added to the package (at an additional cost):

  • Accommodation
  • Guided tour of Reggio Emilia’s historic centre – either a standard tour or a themed tour (e.g. the ‘CRONACHE DI RESISTENZA’ itinerary, a theme close to Guccini’s heart)
