The Labirinto della Masone, located near Fontanellato and not far from Parma, will host an exhibition this coming autumn featuring the work of one of contemporary comics' most important creators: Milo Manara.
VISIONS. Milo Manara in the Labyrinth will be open to the public from October 3, 2026, to January 6, 2027.
The exhibition offers a fresh perspective on the artist’s work, viewed through one of the symbols most deeply tied to the site’s identity: the labyrinth. Over a career spanning more than fifty years, Milo Manara has crafted a visual universe that engages in a dialogue with literature, cinema, and the great Western artistic tradition. VISIONS invites visitors to explore his imaginative world through a significant selection of original comic pages, illustrations, and preparatory materials drawn from his personal archive, private collections, and international lenders.
Three sections guide visitors through three distinct ways the labyrinth appears in Manara’s work: the labyrinth as a metaphor for the subconscious and imagination; the labyrinth as a realm of myth; and the inner journey. For *VISIONI*, Manara created an original artwork dedicated to the Labirinto della Masone. Conceived specifically for the exhibition, the piece pays homage to the host venue and serves as the exhibition’s signature image.
