The new musical heart of “Musica in Castello”, which for three months transforms the summer into a huge festival featuring jazz, swing, musical theatre, spoken word, dance and live performance.
A total of 31 municipalities across the provinces of Piacenza, Parma and Reggio Emilia are taking part in MIC Fest XXXIII – Musica in Castello, the widespread music festival spanning 38 municipalities across 8 provinces with a line-up of 68 artists, including many of international renown (such as Alan Clark, the legendary keyboardist of Dire Straits, performing in Fontanellato, and the Shai Maestro Quartet coming to nearby Fidenza) and just as many well-known names on the Italian scene.
A project created by Enrico Grignaffini, who has been artistic director for 23 years, organised by the Piccola Orchestra Italiana, which over time has developed its own distinctive style: artistic quality, interdisciplinary dialogue, attention to the venues and strong community engagement.
