From May 23 to Nov. 29, 2026, Rocca Sanvitale in Sala Baganza will host the Sculpture Exhibition Racconti materici (Material Tales) by Brunivo Buttarelli, a sort of anthology of the artist's work.
Set up in the fascinating spaces of the Appartamento Farnesiano and Giardino Farnesiano, the exhibition offers an immersive journey dedicated to the transformation of matter, memory and the rebirth of objects.
The works, created through assemblages of heterogeneous and salvaged materials, tell intense visual stories, deeply connected to the themes of contemporaneity and consumerism.
Prominent among the works on display are works that reinterpret symbols of the Italian literary tradition, offering a current reflection on human behavior and its consequences.
The entire exhibition project is configured as an invitation to observe reality with a renewed gaze, capable of grasping in waste a new expressive possibility.
The Appartamento Farnesiano (Farnesian Apartment) of Rocca Sanvitale, the exhibition venue, has recently been restored and returned to public use; located in the northeast wing of the complex, it bears witness to the intervention of Duke Antonio Farnese in the 18th century, with decorations entrusted to the painter Sebastiano Galeotti.
The itinerary unfolds among richly decorated rooms, where symbolism and mythology blend harmoniously with elements of the Christian and classical tradition, offering visitors a complete cultural experience that combines art, history and architecture.
