At the APE Parma Museum until June 28, 2026, there is an exhibition dedicated to one of the lesser-known but no less important creative facets of the multifaceted artist, author of the characters Don Camillo and Peppone.
The exhibition explores the creative work of Giovannino Guareschi (1908-1968) in relation to imagery, in the years spanning from his youth to the sensational success of the first film of the Don Camillo saga in 1952. His work as a photographer is, in fact, limited to the years 1934-1956, interrupted during the nearly two years (1943-1945) of internment and during the years of his imprisonment (1953-1954).
The exhibition unfolds through a path organized into thematic sections, where the originality of the iconographic style, whether in photographs or drawings, resonates with the author's words through a careful selection of his quotations.
