In the heart of the historic center of Parma, a new exhibition opens from 27 May to 16 July 2023, on the first floor of Palazzo Pigorini.

A never before seen exhibition from the collections of the Municipality of Parma: on display the works of 26 Parma artists who have left their mark on the artistic panorama of the 20th century.

A selection of over fifty works, including paintings and drawings from the municipal collections and kept in the deposits of the civic museums, which pay homage to 26 artists who, since the 1960s, have donated to the Municipality of Parma, and therefore to the entire community, part of their production. These are painters who were born in Parma or its surroundings who have, over the course of their lives, demonstrated a strong and indissoluble bond with the city even when they moved to other important centers for 20th-century painting.

These works join the rich heritage that can be admired by citizens and tourists in the historic location of the Pinacoteca Stuard whose exhibition itinerary, which goes from the 14th and 15th centuries to the 20th century, including works of different artistic and pictorial cultures, is the result of the sensitive and generous intuition of Giuseppe Stuard (Parma, 1790-1834), administrator of the Congregation of San Filippo Neri.
