The Verdi Festival in Parma and Busseto will return from September 21 to October 21, 2024.
Power and Politics are the warp and weft inside the program, crossing the centuries and musical genres and evoking themes dear to the Maestro, of pressing relevance in today’s cultural and social debate.
In the new edition: Macbeth in a French version, La battaglia di Legnano, Un ballo in maschera in a new set up directed by Pierre Audi, Daniele Menghini and Valentina Carrasco, directed by Roberto Abbado, Fabio Biondi, Diego Ceretta and Attila in concert form directed by Roberto Frizza are the operas in the programme, to which are added the Messa da Requiem and Gala Verdiano, directed by Francesco Lanzillotta and James Conlon.
Among the interpreters: Riccardo Fassi, Lidia Fridman, Luciano Ganci, Mika Kares, Giorgi Manoshvili, Roberta Mantegna, Francesco Meli, George Petean, Michele Pertusi, Ernesto Petti, Marina Rebeka, Giovanni Sala, Luca Salsi, Fabio Sartori, Vladimir Stoyanov, Marta Torbidoni, Szilvia Vörös, with young talents from the Accademia Verdiana directed by Francesco Izzo.

The Festival will be inaugurated on September 21 by the singers, dancers and actors of the Verdi Street Parade, which will bring to the city of Parma the joyous and cheerful spirit of Verdi Off.
