Castell'Arquato, a village located in the hills of Piacenza, goes back in time with the event Rivivi il Medioevo (Relive the Middle Ages), with battles and re-enactments on 13, 14 and 15 September 2024.
Among the activities: siege machine launches, tournaments featuring archers or men in armour, shows, educational activities and a great pitched battle.
For visitors, ancient games, a market, craftsmen, herbalists, jesters and a medieval tavern are planned for both days.
The event takes place in one of the villages awarded the Orange Flag (award for excellent small villages in the hinterland), characterised by stone houses and well-preserved medieval buildings. The monumental Piazza del Municipio (Town Hall Square) is populated by the buildings of power: the ancient Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Assunta, clad in calcarenite, which gives the surface a golden colour; the Palazzo del Podestà, symbol of civic power; the Rocca Viscontea, expression of military power.
