Filarole is a simple and welcoming place, a project to enhance the value of the old vineyards in Val Tidone, the first valley in Emilia-Romagna arriving from the west, in the province of Piacenza.
Only still, structured wines, highly gastronomic, 100% healthy grapes and carefully selected bunches during harvest to avoid defects in the wines.
Our vineyards, cultivated organically, are scattered throughout the valley, almost all isolated among woods and fields, a true open-air museum for the biodiversity they harbor between the rows, but also for the genetic diversity these old vines represent.
The main grapes are Barbera and Croatina red grapes, and Ortrugo and Malvasia aromatica di Candia white grapes.
Visiting Filarole is an opportunity to discover a piece of Emilia's history that is slowly disappearing: an agricultural history, but also wines with an ancient flavor, made the old-fashioned way: with only grapes, care, and patience.
