Situated in the Ceno Valley at the foot of Mount Dosso.
This old hamlet is overlooked by the two ancient towers of the former castle, and since medieval times has been on the route of pilgrims on the Via Francigena to Rome and armies marching towards Liguria and Tuscany.
Along with its landmarks of historical and artistic interest, inhabited towers, fortified rural courtyards and churches, Varsi is surrounded by unspoiled countryside with an abundance of trails for hikers and horse riders.
Of interest: the hitching-post next to the 13th C parish church of San Pietro, later rebuilt in Baroque style.
Nearby the Village of Golaso, a fortified farm in a pretty good state, Mont Barigazzo (1200 mt) a beautiful balcony overlooking the Ceno Valley and Bardi dominates from its beautiful castle.
