The original concert hall dates back to the XVI cent and it was first inaugurated in 1868. The location is the old fortress of the Gonzaga family, this theatre is a smaller version of Reggio Emilia’s Municipale featuring a horseshoe-shaped plant, three orders of boxes with a gallery and a large stage topped by a clock.
Designed by Antonio Tegani, who also worked on the Municipale in Reggio Emilia, finely decorated by Cesare Cervi, it was entitled to Franco Tagliavini-the great tenor from Novellara- in 2012
