A charming theatre inside the prestigious Convitto Maria Luigia, in the heart of Parma.
Built by the court architect Nicola Bettoli between 1821 and 1829, the 19th-century theatre has a rectangular hall and a balcony with a continuous band that joins the proscenium decorated with elegantly carved corbels.
The major arts are depicted among putti and garlands of flowers on the ceiling by Giovanni Gaibazzi, while monochrome busts of famous musicians and poets are lined up on the perimeter walls of the balcony.
