Day 1: Maggiorasca and Bue: high Ligurian-Emilian lookouts

Location: Santo Stefano d'Aveto
The first of 2 days in the Val d'Aveto. Starting from a small hamlet of Santo Stefano d'Aveto we will climb up to the spectacular Prato della Cipolla, where the Onion's tooth rises out of the wood like a giant. After a moment's rest in this beautiful meadow, we will continue the hike up to the two symbolic peaks of the Ligurian-Emilian Apennines where the provinces of Genoa and Parma meet. First on mount Bue and then with a little last effort on mount Maggiorasca where the Madonna of Guadalupe watches over the valley. After a few minutes of well-deserved rest, we start our descent again, which in a loop will take us back to our starting point
Departure: Santo Stefano d'Aveto area at 10:00 a.m. - (members will be given the precise meeting point by navigator)
Degree of difficulty: hike of medium difficulty. (600 m maximum height difference for 8-9 km of cart tracks and paths)
Expected end of hike and activity around 15:00
Hiking shoes with lugged soles, windbreaker, hat and sunglasses, rucksack, water (at least 1.5 L), lunch bag, poles are required.
Maximum number of participants: 20
Participation fee: 20 €, to be paid in advance to the guide, more information when booking.

Possibility of coupling this excursion with the one on the following day, staying overnight on site and fully enjoying the weekend in the upper Aveto valley. A list of accommodation available for overnight stays is available upon request from the Guide. And for those who stay overnight, we dine together in the evening!

Day 2: The primordial charm of the Tribolata Valley and Ciapa Liscia

The second of 2 days in Val d'Aveto. Hiking loop through beech forests and sweeping views of the upper Val D'Aveto that will take us to the Groppo rosso viewpoint rising just above the village of Santo Stefano, and then on to the spectacular scenery of the Tribolata valley where the ophiolite rocks have been shaped by time into the form of towers and pinnacles that stand like sentinels guarding this forgotten corner of the Apennines.
Departure: Santo Stefano d'Aveto area at 10 a.m. - (participants will be given the precise meeting point by navigator)
Degree of difficulty: hike of medium difficulty. (600 m maximum height difference for 8-9 km of cart tracks and paths)
Expected end of hike and activity around 3 p.m.
