An engaging journey through time that will lead visitors to discover the ancient history of the Mother Church of the diocese of Piacenza-Bobbio. During the guided tour we will retrace the 900 years since its construction, from San Giovanni de Domo, passing through the heart of the Middle Ages to the restorations carried out by the architect Camillo Guidotti and commissioned by San Giovanni Battista Scalabrini, passing through the ancient archives that hold one of the most important documentary funds of our country.

The Paratics and the 'talking stones' of the Cathedral

On the occasion of Workers' Day, walking inside the Cathedral, we will discover the professional figures of the paratici, depicted on some of the great pillars of the building. These bas-reliefs still tell us about the Piacenza that was, recounting the lives and workers who were protagonists in the construction of the Cathedral. With them we will also listen to the stories of other figures that peep out from the pillars of the Cathedral and we will discover another small curiosity on the façade of the church related to Piacenza in the past.
