The Val Nure, in the province of Piacenza, prized for its unspoiled landscapes, paths through forests and meadows, and small towns that preserve long-standing traditions, is hosting a summer festival of meetings and concerts.
Val Nure Festival “Schegge di Storia(Splinters of History)” originates from Edmund Burke's phrase “He who does not know History is condemned to repeat it.” History is a common thread in the festival, which runs from June 22 to August 9, 2024, in seven of the Val Nure localities: Pontenure, Podenzano, Vigolzone, Ponte Dell'Olio, Bettola, Farini and Ferriere.
Part of the review will revolve around meetings and presentations in the presence of historians, philosophers, writers, and journalists-Mario Calabresi, Costantino d'Orazio, Tommaso Ghidini, Pier Domenico Baccalario, Marco Ponti, Ilaria Cerioli and Francesco Costa. Part of the event will involve singer-songwriters and musicians who will accompany the evenings or perform in gardens, villages and castles in the valley. Opening the festival on June 22 is Paolo Fresu with Uri Caine, followed by Joan Osborne, Angelo Branduardi, Flexus, and closing on Aug. 9 Francesco Baccini will perform a free concert in Ferriere Square.
Program available on the official website (IT).
