The Tour de France kicks off for the 2024 edition from Florence. After the Florence-Rimini and Cesenatico-Bologna stages, the third stage will start on Monday, July 1, from the city of Piacenza in the direction of Turin.
The first part of the stage will go through the city center passing by Piacenza's most important monuments: the Municipal Theater, the Cathedral, Piazza Cavalli, the Gothic Palace and Palazzo Farnese before reaching Piazzale Milano and starting the race westward.
In the Piacentino territory the athletes will pass through Rottofreno, Sarmato and Castel San Giovanni before crossing the Emilian border.
During the period preceding the arrival of the athletes, the city will organize events and sporting events in honor of the passage of the Tour de France.

The first bike race is dedicated to the very young with Panathlon, and children will be featured at Stralunà in bici and the Minibike Trophy. Important cycling rally in late June to ride with Giancarlo Perini, eighth place finisher at the Grande Boucle in 1992.
