Christmas is approaching and brings many events to Scandiano!
- Saturday 16 December: the renovated Piazza Spallanzani will be inaugurated in the presence of the authorities. The festive day will continue with the Christmas concert by the Boiardo Band and the lighting of the Christmas Tree.
From 6 p.m. the Vino e Vinili DJ set will bring excellent music to the square accompanied by excellent wines. Cakes and mulled wine can be tasted throughout the day in Corso Vallisneri, and Piazza del Gusto in Piazza I Maggio also continues.
- On Sunday 17 December, the Associazione Anziani Arceto will offer a Christmas toast during which people can exchange greetings, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. They will then return to Piazza Spallanzani for the bagpipe concert by the Heart of Italy Pipe Band. Mulled wine and cakes will be available in Corso Vallisneri, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Piazza Duca d'Aosta awaits children with Magicworld Animazione: creative workshops, tricks, and balloon sculptures by Simone Ghirardini. The Zanfretta train will also take adults and children around the centre.
- From 18 to 22 December, art and ingenuity markets, a children's merry-go-round, and candyfloss await the people of Scandiano and beyond in the old town centre. On Friday, 22 December, Circolabile will bring clowns to Piazza Spallanzani, starting at 5.30 p.m.: the show is suitable for young and old, from 3 years of age.
- On Saturday 23 December, the Christmas festivities get into full swing with the Santa Klaus Jazz Quartet, which will march in time with the music through the squares and streets of the centre: the show is organised by Ufficio Incredibile. From 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. the Accademia Creativa theatre company will take the touring show Bianche Presenze on stilts through the streets of Scandiano. At 5 p.m. the Gospel And More Choir will bring music to Piazza Spallanzani: a Christmas toast will follow at 6 p.m., followed by a Radio Bruno DJ set. Children will again be able to ride the Zanfretta train: the station is in Piazza Duca d'Aosta.
- On Sunday 24 December, it will be possible to board the Stradello horse-drawn carriage to stroll through the old town centre; from 11 am in Piazza Duca d'Aosta, Christmas stories will be read, children will be able to take part in Art in Play with Mariaestella Colli, and, at 12.30 pm, balloons will be launched. The Zanfretta train, merry-go-round, popcorn and candyfloss will also be available for the little ones.
