Gravel Gourmet

On 13 and 14 May 2023, a cycling event for 'gourmands', gourmets, is back, which aims to let its participants have a unifying experience capable of involving all the senses.

Gravel Gourmet is concentrated in small towns in the province of Parma immersed in the architectural, historical and gastronomic excellences of this area.

Participants can choose between different routes, delighted by the refreshments - which we have renamed snacks at GG - along the route where producers, chefs, and tourist offices will compete to express the best of traditional recipes prepared with local products.

This part of Emilia is strongly influenced by the Po plain but already allows you to breathe the Apennines. The nature of these gentle hills and the rivers of the valleys are dotted with castles and villages whose beauty is accentuated by their authenticity and hospitality.

You will be delighted with the most appreciated PGI and PDO products in the world such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Parma Ham as well as cured meats but without forgetting, of course, that the strong point of gastronomy in Emilia is fresh pasta, especially stuffed pasta.

From an oenological point of view, Lambrusco and Malvasia are the most characteristic grapes of the Colli di Parma DOC production

Being a gravel event, the terrain is varied and on different surfaces. The two-day itineraries have been carefully studied to highlight the architectural beauties and the most beautiful panoramic views. Each pedaled stretch presents the geographical and environmental characteristics of the area in the best possible way. We are in the park area: the Taro River Park, the Boschi di Carrega Park and the WWF oasis of Cronovilla are protected oases that offer fun dirt roads and paths.
