The unique historical Carnival of Fiorenzuola d'Arda, a town located along the Via Emilia in the province of Piacenza, takes place every year in the weekend before Lent.
Since the late Middle Ages, the Zobia has invaded the streets of the city center with its crazy circus. It is a real outdoor theater where, during the parade of floats and handmade carts, everyone improvises as an actor interacting with the public through jokes and sketches in dialect. Without a mask, however, because traditionally the Zobia is with uncovered faces.
A local carnival, made of fun, new wine and good food. A carnival as simple as it is sincere and authentic, because it is built with the passion of the people.
