Autumn brings with it all the richness of the forest's fruits. Mushrooms, honey, autumn fruits, the first winter herbs… and of course pumpkin, the queen of autumn menus! In October, an excellent Taverna dish returns to the menu: pumpkin cappellacci with sautéed cardoncelli mushrooms. But the mushrooms have a little secret: they come from Biofilia, the wonderful farm located in Sariano, just a few kilometers from the castle, home to the famous Happy Hens, who live a natural, peaceful life free-roaming in the old orchard. Biofilia planted the first mushroom farm in the Piacenza area. The Taverna’s cardoncelli mushrooms are grown there, as are the "millesapori" aromatic herbs, the finest pumpkins, black cabbage, and the honey we pair with our cheese selections. Come discover the authentic, wonderful flavors of our hills. All accompanied by the essential Piacenza cured meats and the excellent wines from our local (organic) cellars.

Grand Court Festival | Fairy Tale Park and Castle
A spectacular living scenography: falconers, archers and ancient cooks animate the castle in preparation for a lord’s banquet.
The ancient kitchens of the castle are alive with our cookers acting the ancient servants of the castle. We will cook all the day, in ancient dresses, realising true medieval and renaissance receipts. At 5:00 PM demonstration flights by raptors with explanations on medieval falconry — guests can experience the ‘glove baptism’ with the birds. Historical archery demonstrations. The Tavern offers tastings of historic medieval recipes alongside the regular menu. You can enjoy our reenactment with the Fairy-Tale Park ticket and with the castle tour ticket.
