When the fatigue of the long journey on foot became more and more insistent and regaining strength became essential, the only cure for the pilgrim was prayer in a safe place: the church. We will visit the Pieve di Cabriolo and the Abbey of Castione Marchesi, located in the Fidenza countryside and along the Via Francigena, to discover the precious treasures kept inside.

The Silence of the Fornio Plans

It is still a beautiful and uncontaminated territory that of the hamlet of Fornio, built on the edge of the Stirone and Piacenziano Park, which has been able to maintain a respectful agricultural activity in harmony with nature. We will discover all this by looking out over the bed of the Stirone torrent, where fossils dating back millions of years can still be seen, before a gastronomic stop at an agriturismo.

He who goes to the mill gets flour

A beautiful ring-route walk in the Parola Valley that will allow us to visit one of the most significant productive realities of the area: the Pederzani mill. This is a family-run business that cultivates organic cereals, which are ground and processed thanks to the knowledgeable farming tradition. After the visit to the mill we ford the Torrente Parola to retrieve the cars left at the start.
